New Business Video Directory - HotPluto.com

There's not many places where a company can post video ads touting their business or services.

Many sites reject such blatant commercialism.

Enter HotPluto.com created by Valencia, CA entrepreneur Brett Hill.

Any business can set up a FREE account and post a video in the Hot Pluto business directory.

They also offer other levels of service allowing you to post more ads and even be featured on the site.

I could write more about Hot Pluto but the best thing to do would be to visit yourself and see if it's for you.

It's a very well designed site already attracting some very high profile advertisers such as Discovery Channel and Bridgestone Tires.

So get in while the gettin's good as they say down south.

THE ORACLE, ADVISOR TO THE DALAI LAMA & TIBETAN GOVERNMENT, MAKES FIRST PUBLIC APPEARANCE IN U.S. WITH 11-CITY SPEAKING TOUR

NEWHALL, CALIFORNIA - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Lifestyle News (PRLEAP.COM)

The Oracle Speaks About Global Warming & Personal Responsibility

In an unprecedented, first-ever public visit & speaking tour in the United States, The Oracle of Tibet (www.tibetanoracle.org) will be making public appearances in an 11-city tour sponsored by Philip Stein Teslar. As the advisor to the Dalai Lama and Tibetan Government, The Oracle will be sharing his knowledge with the masses and speaking on critical universal issues such as Global Warming and the importance of personal responsibilities and collective humanity.

Who Is The Oracle?
As a cabinet-level official of the Tibet Government in exile, The Oracle’s knowledge is usually reserved for advising the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government. The Oracle, the Venerable Thupten Ngodup is also a Tibetan monk and healer. This tour will also be part of his effort to preserve the lineage of the Nechung Kuten and help fulfill a prophecy that was handed down hundreds of years ago to develop a college of Monasteries known as the Dreyang.

Where Will He Be Speaking?
The tour kicks-off in San Francisco on Friday, June 15th and ends with two final appearances in San Francisco on August 8th. Other cities on the tour will include: Portland, Los Angeles, Aspen, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Louisville, Washington, DC, New York City and Miami.

What Is His Message?
As he tours the United States, The Oracle will share his message of personal responsibility & collective humanity. The Oracle of Tibet has first-hand experience and insight into the impact of global warming. He’ll discuss how human consciousness for the well being of the present and future generations on the globe can be the saving grace. From the “rooftop” of the world in the Himalayan mountain range he has seen the snow pack diminish. By changing the way we live, work and make money the Oracle will observe that we can reduce greenhouse gases and reverse the trend of rising temperatures and build-up of greenhouse gases that cause such changes.

About the Visit
It is timely and remarkable that a visionary watch company, Philip Stein Teslar, known for tracking time with beautiful designs and promoting the health of the earth with Teslar Technology, has joined Partnerships For Change in this great undertaking. With the blessings of H.H. the Dalai Lama, this earth conscious team has assembled to launch this extraordinary tour of the Oracle of Tibet. It is this magnitude of consciousness from both industry and non-profit working hand in hand that reminds us that time is of the essence; and that it is a time for change.

IT FEELS GOOD TO SAY THIS...

It feels good to say this...

About 2 years ago I had the first of many conversations with Sara (she runs the east coast office of Steve Allen Media), touching on a topic that now fuels our firm.

I told her that I was getting these overwhelming intuitive hits that the firm should be aligning itself with clients whose messages are bent on making a difference in this beautiful world of ours and less with clients whose aspirations don't fall under that umbrella.

The firm made its move in that direction. Below are a handful of campaigns worth shouting about:

1. Steve Allen Media was hired to publicize a co-venture between The Tibetan government and www.partnershipsforchange.org. It was an 11-city global warming tour featuring the Dalai Lama's advisor Ku Tin La.

2. We were asked to give a voice to a national obesity program for kids that The Dr.Phil Show got behind.

3. A school in L.A.'s inner city has asked us to promote their documentary on the United Nations Millennium Goals.

4. We ushered in, on a national level, an awareness program geared toward senior drivers and a product to refresh driving skills.

5. We recently began promoting the launch of a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) recovery program. The program targets our returning veterans from Afghanistan and Iraq.

6. This past holiday season, our firm promoted a program that fed more than 10,000 families. It was the largest of its kind ever!

7. We gave national exposure to a new, effective scoliosis treatment designed for adults and children.

I guess the reason I'm writing this, is this: The water cooler talk making headlines around Steve Allen media is that we've found our true voice. We want to be known in the neighborhood as the firm you contact if you have something that makes a difference and you are in need of exposing it through the media on a local, national, or even global level.

We also just added a new tagline underneath our company banner - "PR with a Conscience."

..........Peace ...Steve Allen

Celerity Dream Project

For the past 8 months, a group of eighth grade students at The Celerity Nascent Charter School in South Central Los Angeles have been "thinking and acting globally" by participating in The Dream Project – an offshoot of The United Nation's Millennium Development Goals.

Founded by Kelly Sullivan Walden, author, dream coach and vice president of the Los Angeles chapter of the Women's National Book Association, after participating in the 2006 United Nations Conference where the goals were unveiled, The Dream Project was designed to empower young people to recognize themselves as leaders that behold the potential to make a positive and real contribution to the world and to instill in them social responsibility, self-esteem, and creative problem solving.

The Celerity Nascent Charter School is the first school to take part in The Dream Project's pilot program which gives students the opportunity to address and create solutions for the issues recognized in the United Nation's Millennium Goals to combat hunger, poverty, disease, illiteracy, environmental degradation and discrimination in an attempt to fulfill these goals by the year 2015.

Vielka McFarlane, a veteran educator and founder of the Celerity Educational Group, knows all too well the responsibility and fortitude it takes to make a change in this world. She mortgaged her home and acquired a building on the corner of Jefferson and Crenshaw Boulevard in the notoriously underserved South Central Los Angeles community. This is where her vision of empowering children came to life - with The Celerity Nascent Charter School.

Since opening the Celerity Nascent School in 2005 (and two more since), Ms. McFarlane has been instilling these values in her students and it's apparent in their enthusiasm and dedication to The Dream Project. With several components, all of which are being filmed and compiled for a documentary, the Dream Project has kept the students at the Celerity Nascent School entrenched in global issues for the last few months. Ms. McFarlane knows this project, along with the rest of Celerity's curriculum, will make a lifelong impression on these students.

Ms. McFarlane explains, "For us (at the Celerity Schools), the Dream Project is an implementation of the mission and vision of the school in which we talk about empowerment. This project allows the students and our community to be social engineers and control their future."

Three eighth-grade classes at Celerity Nascent were chosen to take a hands-on involvement in the Dream Project. The classes were divided intro groups of eight, each group was given a Millennium Goal and asked to research the existing problem and envision its solution. At the end of a three-month period, each group will present their solutions to the entire school.

Yet this is just one of the school's many steps taken to better the world. In December, the school was a sponsor and distribution site for a Feed the Children project that fed more than 2,000 families in the Los Angeles area and ultimately more than 12,000 throughout the nation.

The Dream Project has also brought several high profile and inspiring speakers to the Celerity Nascent School and its community such as inspirational speaker including Pulitzer Prize Winner Mohammand Unis.

Just last month, a group of students will be traveling to meet with Honduras President Manuel Zelaya to share their involvement in the Dream Project in hopes to inspire students throughout Honduras to take action and help them fulfill the Millennium Goals.

"With our curriculum and the Dream Project, we are making it know that our vision at Celerity is not to just 'help' these underprivileged children, because that's too much talk and too little action," explains Ms. McFarlane. "We are giving them the tools and the knowledge to allow them to change the world and make a difference both within and on a larger scale."

When Culinary Worlds Collide Traditional Sushi Meets Market Menu at Valencia's Maru Restaurant

Los Angeles, CA – March 24, 2008 - When is a sushi restaurant so much more than "just a sushi restaurant?" When can you start with exquisite sushi flown in daily from Japan paired with a great Sancerre, followed by a local heirloom tomato salad (just picked from the farm up the road), and then grass-fed Colorado lamb loin paired with California's latest cult wines. It doesn't happen often – if at all - but thanks to Chef Jason Park, he has integrated the two worlds quite nicely at Maru Restaurant in Valencia.

Maru is a self-described "French-Japanese fine dining restaurant" using only the finest artisinal ingredients, touting a boutique wine list with highly allocated gems and a menu featuring both traditional French inspired tasting menus as well as Japanese Omakase and traditional sushi. Chef Park has found his niche with Maru Restaurant and Los Angeles is taking notice.

Southern California Inner City Students Dream Big with UN Millennium Goals

Dreaming Big: Empowering Youth to Heal the Globe
South Central Los Angeles Charter School Takes On The World And Participates in The Dream Project – an Offshoot of The United Nation’s Millennium Goals

Los Angeles, CA – February 14, 2008 - In a community where many of its residents struggle to put food on the table and avoid a life of drugs and gang violence, an inspirational group of eighth grade students at The Celerity Nascent Charter School in South Central Los Angeles are “thinking globally and acting locally” by participating in The Dream Project – an offshoot of The United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals.

Kelly Sullivan Walden, author, dream coach and vice president of the Los Angeles chapter of the Women’s National Book Association, participated in the 2006 United Nations Conference where the goals were unveiled. Her response to this meeting was profound, going far above and beyond her “duties” as an UN-affiliated non-governmental organization – and thus the Dream Project was born.

The Dream Project is designed to empower young people to recognize themselves as leaders that behold the potential to make a positive and real contribution to the world and to instill in them social responsibility, self-esteem, and creative problem solving. This pilot program gives students the opportunity to address and create solutions for the issues recognized in the United Nation’s Millennium Goals to combat hunger, poverty, disease, illiteracy, environmental degradation and discrimination in an attempt to fulfill these goals by the year 2015.
